Ketchum House Share

front view of houseSummary: I'm looking for 1 or 2 people to share a 4br Warm Springs home. Great location close to town. Easy walk to bus that drops you off at the lifts in 7 minutes.

What it is:

This is a 4-bedroom (one of them is small), 2-bath house plus a detached garage "mother-in-law" apartment. It is located in the resort town of Ketchum, Idaho (see map below).

There are either 1 or 2 bedrooms available. Ideally, I'd like to rent the upstairs to one person for $650. That includes your own bedroom, bathroom (only shared when there are house guests, and a loft area large enough for an office, entertainment area and workout area. Yes, there is a lot of room up there!

My bedroom and office are downstairs, so you'd pretty much have the whole upstairs all your self(ves). There is a 3rd bedroom upstairs that I'm storing items in, and would also be available for guests.

The kitchen includes a commercial Garland gas range and two refrigerators. There are two hot water heaters hooked in tandem, so there's plenty of hot water. The dining area is open and airy. The kitchen and dining room have terracotta tile floors.

The dining room has a nice large pine table, terracotta tile floors, and lots of light.

Where it's located:

The property is located on West Canyon Run Blvd. This is becoming one of Warm Springs' hottest neighborhoods with huge 15,000+ square foot homes being built up the road.

It is an easy bike ride (or even a walk, for those wanting exercise) into town.

The KART bus stop is nearby, so you can easily catch the bus into town or to the ski lifts in the winter. If you like mountain biking or hiking, you can easily ride or hike to the Adam's Gulch trail system over the "Heidelberg Hill" shortcut.

Rental Options:

  • One person, upstairs - $670/month. This is my preference. Except on the rare occasion when there are out-of-town guests using the extra upstairs bedroom, you'd have the entire upstairs to yourself, including bath, loft, and tons of closet space.

  • Two people upstairs - $475 (larger br) and $425/month (smaller br). Two people can rent the upstairs and share the bathroom and loft area. There is still a small bedroom left over for the out-of-town house guests.

  • The ideal person/people - I'm looking to create a relaxed, fun, and considerate place to live. So I'm looking for a person/people that is/are considerate, mature, easy going, and fun. MUST be a nonsmoker, probably no pets (though will consider well-behaved cat or Aussie/Border type dog. Female preferred.

The loft area has two distinct sections. There is room for an entertainment area and an office, or whatever else you want to do with it.

About me:

I've owned this house for 15 years. I love the Ketchum area and it's been my home - off and on - for most of my adult life.

I am starting up an infopreneuring (aka "information marketing") business and work out of my home office. Over my career span, I've worked as a writer, photographer, editor, photo editor, webmaster, and - more recently - in information marketing.

I'm a nonsmoker, considerate of other's space and privacy, but also prefer having a roommate or two when it's the right blend. I prefer female roommates simply because I think it creates a nicer balance. Also (sorry to say this guys), women tend to be neater around the house.

So, I'm looking for somebody to share this space with that is of like-mind, and prefers having a community household vs. living alone.
